The optical system of a pyrometer consists of lenses that are designed to collect the infrared radiation from a specific measuring point and direct it to the pyrometer's detector.
Each optical system must be specially adapted to the wavelength range of the infrared radiation to be detected. Harsh ambient conditions also require pyrometers with particularly resistant lenses.
