Infrared radiation
Infrared radiation is invisible to the human eye and refers to electromagnetic waves with wavelengths in the range between 0.78 and 1,000 micrometers.
Any object with a temperature above absolute zero (-273.15 degrees Celsius or 0 Kelvin) emits infrared radiation. Pyrometers detect infrared radiation and use it to determine the temperature of the measuring object.
